Birds Poster

Pictured are some of our native birds. Top left we have the pukeko, top right we have the Saddleback and bottom we have the kiwi.

We can keep our native birds safe by not disturbing their habitat, leaving nests alone, don't leave rubbish near their habitat, set traps if predators are in the area, keep your cats indoors at night, set up safe feeding stations away from predators, keep your dogs on a leash. Use designated pathways to avoid disturbing a bird's habitat, when fishing take fishing lines and debris away.

  1. Hi Ella, what a great blog post. I agree with all the things you have listed to keep our native birds safe. I love the pictures you have included. What is your favourite native bird? Mine is the Pukeko, I think we are so lucky to be able to see them all the time as there are a lot in our area.
